Diego possibly married Azenda Segerédez and they had a daughter by the name of Ardio Díaz who married Fruela Arias. "Azenda Segerédez's parentage and possible marriage are indicated by a charter dated 29 Jul 1118 under which Queen Urraca donated Sobrado "inter Montem Rosum et terram de Speluca", which King Fernando I had granted to "avo vestro Sigeredo Aluiti et...uxore sue Adosinda Arie", to "Vermudo Petri et fratri vestro Fernando Petri" (assuming that "avo" can be interpreted as meaning great-great-grandfather of the first wife of Pedro Fróilaz de Traba). Segeredo married Adosinda Arias, daughter of Arias Muńiz and Unknown.
