Here is what I have on the two lines of Stafford that you mention, both descended from Hervey de Bagot:

MILLICENT de STAFFORD (3), M HERVEY de BAGOT, of Bramshall, Staffs. (He assumed the surname of 'de Stafford' upon being seised of his wife's inheritance & Died before 25 Aug. 1214). She was heir to her brother, Robert. Died by Jan. 1224/5. She had issue: [CP XII:1, p 170 VCH Staffs VII, pp 13-4]

2.WILLIAM (1), of Sandon & Bramshall, Staffs., M Alice (Born c. 1225), d. of Warine de Vernon, Lord of Shipbrook, & his wife Mary, d. of Ralph de Andeville (See VERNON). He had issue: [VCH Staffs VII, pp 13-4]

M 2nd his cousin Margaret, 4th d. of Ralph, 1st Earl of Stafford, & his 1st wife Katherine, d. of Sir John Hastang, Kt., of Chebsey, Staffs. (See BELOW). Died before August 1373. Sheriff of Staffs., 1 Nov. 1383 to 11 Nov. 1384 & 1 Dec. 1388 to 15 Nov. 1389. Sheriff of Somerset & Dorset, 18 Nov. 1386 to 1387, 21 Oct. 1391 to 18 Oct. 1392, 22 Nov. to 19 Dec. 1405 & 29 Nov. 1410 to 10 Dec. 1411. William married Isabel de Stafford, daughter of Sir Robert de Stafford Knight and Gundreda de Stafford. (Isabel de Stafford was born in Anslow, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, England.)
