~Weis' Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700, 8th Edition, 247:22-24, Alice, daughter of Walcher, Bishop Durham married Dolfin Fitz Uchtred, Lord of Raby, called "a turbulent baron," and son of Uchtred Fitz Maldred, Lord of Raby, co. Durham. Alice and Dolfin had a son, Maldred who married the daughter of John de Stuteville.

William Walcher was the bishop of Durham from 1071. He was originally from Liege (Flanders) and the first non-Englishman to hold that see, which he was appointed to by William the Conqueror. He was murdered by the locals of Northumberland in 1080, which lead to William the Conqueror sending in an army into Northhumberland.
