Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, Mathedoi comté de Poher was married to a daughter of Alain "le Grand" Duke of Brittany and his wife Oreguen, and their son was Alain de Bretagne. "The Chronicle of Nantes records that "Mathuedoi comes de Poher" fled "ad regem Anglorum Adelstanum" with "filium suum…Alanum" [Chronique de Nantes XXVII, p. 82]. The Chronicle of Nantes records that the mother of "filium suum (Mathuedoi)…Alanum" was "filia Alani Magni Britonum ducis" [Chronique de Nantes XXVII, p. 83]."
