The Annales Cracovienses Vetusti record the birth in 1016 of "Kazimyr" [Annales Cracovienses Vetusti, p. 2] The Annalista Saxo records the return to Poland in 1039 of "Kazimer filius Miseconis ducis Polanorum", specifying that he married "regis Ruscie filiam" and naming their two sons [Annalista Saxo 1039]. The Annales Capituli Cracoviensis record the death of "Kazimirus dux" in 1058 [Annales Capituli Cracoviensis 1058, MGH SS XIX, p. 587].
Kasimir married Dobronega Maria Vladmirovna of Kiev, the illegitimate daughter of Vladimir I Sviatoslavich, the Grand Prince of Kiev and his mistress. The Chronica principum Polonie records that "Kazimirus" married "Dobrognewam" [Chronica principum Poloniæ, Silesiacarum Scriptores I, p. 58].
Kasimir married Dobrognieva of Kiev, daughter of Vladimir Grand Prince of Kiev and Ragnheid of Poland, in 1042. (Dobrognieva of Kiev was born after 1101 in Kiev, Ukraine and died in 1087 in Poland.)
