George Fairbank was born about 1528 and is perhaps the George Fairbank buried at Sowerby 29 Mar 1610. George married, 10 May 1551, his first wife, Sybil Wade. She died in childbirth, along with her ninth child shortly before 21 May 1573, which was the date of her burial in Halifx, Yorkshire. George married a second time, 15 Feb 1573/4, to Jenet Brodlye, whose name appears as Johanna Broadley, widow of William. Jenet was the mother of Abram, the youngest of George's children.
