• Background Information. 806 Within the footnotes of A Survey of Staffordshire, p.103, it mentions that Katherine Hastand, daughter and coheir of John, is not found in Dugdales or other accounts. The author questions if she might be the daughter of Humphrey de Hastang because Ralph, Earl of Stafford gave lands for the would of his wife Katherine as well as that of his wife Margaret, and the soul of Sir Humphrey Hastang.
