Huck held half a carucate in Little Singleton, to hold by serjeantly, as chief baliff to keep the wapentake of Amoundernes. [Kuerden MSS.]. Ughtred, son of Huck, occurs frequently in the Pipe Rolls of Henry II. Ughtred had issue of a daughter, Matilda who married first, William, son of Swain, of Carleton, and married second Richard de Workedley during the reign of King John [Chartulary of Cockersand, Vol. I, P. I]. Ughtred had issue of three sons: Robert, called son of Ughtred, sometimes called "clerk," and the grantor of land to Cockersan Abbey in Billsborough, and whose son, Richard, afterwards confirmed his father's grant [Billsborough, No. 13]; Ralph, given as "son of Ughtred"; and Richard, son of Ughtred, called "Sir Richard" in the Plea Rolls.
