Robert Hastang, Lord of la Desiree, was of Leamington Hasting in Warwickshire, son and heir of Robert Hastang of Leamington by Joane, daughter and coheir of William de Curli. Robert was summoned as a baron to Parliament in 1311. His seal was a shield of arms-a chief and a lion with a forked tail over all-between two wyverns.

About 1121-1126, Eutrope Hastang gave to Robert, Bishop of Coventry and his successors a chart granting to St. Oswald Nostell the churches of Chesbsey, Leamington and Newbold, and confirmed the grant of Humphrey, his father, of the mill, etc, of Salford [B.M. cott. MS, Vesp., E xix, fol. 114]. His descendant, Robert Hastang, of Chesbsey and Lemington Hastang, married Joan, daughter and coheir of William de Curli, of Budbrook, etc [Dugdale, Warwickshire, p. 462], and on 20 Mar 1252/3, he and his wife along with Piers de Neville and Piers's wife, Alice, Robert's nieces, granddaughters and heirs of William de Curli, had a confirmation of Budbrook and other lands of the gift of John de Curli to his brother William [Cal. Charter and Fines Roll]. In 1259/60, Robert Hastang and Joan his wife gave to the monks of Bordesley, land in Langley of the grantor's fee which grant had been of William de Curli, confirmed by his son and heir William de Curli.
