• Background Information. 934 Robert Talbot, born about 1205, settled in Yorkshire, where he was granted lands for life in Hudderfield by John de Lacy, Constable of Chester, and first Earl of Lincoln. He was the youngest son of Robert Talebot. After his death in 20 Henry III (1235), he held two parts of one knight's fee in Wulrickby, Lincholnshire, which he had by gift of his father. [Visitation of Yorkshire, 1666, p. 237]
Robert married Matilda and their children were: Thomas, b. about 1230, and Robert, who held lands in Huddersfield, which eventually passed, by a daughter and heir to the Beaumont Family[Vist. Yorks. 1666, pp. 237 & 243]
