Father Guerra stated they they were certain that the couple was related, but he was unable to determine whether Gregorio Baca and Josefa Baca were siblings or first cousins. He knew the bride was very poor, as was her widowed mother, who had another unmarried daughter to support by her labor. The prospective groom would provide them relief.
