Rather Sánchez Vergara forwarded the proceeding to Durango on 12 Apr 1718. On 9 May 1819, Bishop Castañiza granted a dispensation, assigning as penance that the couple would go to communion once more than required by Church precepts, recite the rosary for a week, and pay 10 pesos in alms applicable to pious works at the bishop's discretion. Their parish priest was to proclaim the banns. Assuming no new impediment arose, he was to proceed with the marriage and nuptial blessing.
