~Ormerod's History of the County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol. II, p. 395, Pedigree of the Bunbury Family, confirmed by William Dugdale in the Visitation of 1663, according to Ormerod, Hugh is often shown erroneously shown in predigress as the father of Richard, who is his brother. Betham's Baronetage, v. iii, p. 48 has Hugh as son of William, and father of Richard. Kimber & Johnson, The Baronetage of England, v. ii, p. 455 has the same, as does Collin's Baronetage, v. iii. part. ii p. 688 ^{713,828,848,1346}

Richard de Bonnebury, Lord of Moiety of Bunbury, son and heir of William de Bunnebury, by deed of Henry son of Alexander de Bunbury (Richard's Uncle). Richard was the father of David de Bonnebury; Margaret, wife of Richard, son of John de Lowe; and possibly of Thomas, Chaplain & Peter de Bunbury.
