• Background Information: 252 Juan García Holgado, brother of Diego, was living at the Isleta district in 1638. He held the office of Alcalde of Alameda Pueblo around the year 1650. He was still living in the Río Abajo country as late as 1667 with the rank of Captain, his wife being Ana Pacheco.

• Background Information: In the Inquisition investigation into charges against Diego Romero, Juan García Holgado (ONMF: 32-33) was interviewed at the Pueblo of Socorro on 24 April 1667. He was identified as "justicia mayor destas fronteras" and said he was a native of New Mexico, forty-two to forty-three years of age (born circa 1624-1625). His wife was named as Ana Pachéco.
The father of Juan García Holgado, Capitán Alvaro García (ONMF: 32) was married in Santa Fe where he was residing in January 1626. No other information has yet to be uncovered about the origins and parents of Álvaro García Holgado (b.ca. 1577).
