Sons of Robert de Heriz I. were Gaufrid de Heriz, who held Stapleford; his daughter Amicia married Richard de Camera, and was ancestor of the family of Strelley, closely thereafter linked to the Stanhope family; Hugh de Stapleford, who held the lesser part of Stapleford, and Ivo de Heriz I., who was Sheriff of Nottingham and Derbyshire, 1127-1129. Morris, The Medieval English Sheriff to 1300, p. 82, 1927.] This Ivo also held land in Lower Pillerton, Warwickshire, under Hugh de Grentemesnil II., son of Hugh de Grentemesnil I. and Adeliza de Beaumont-sur-Oise, descendant of Radulpus de Beaumont, who held it of Henry de Beaumont, Earl of Warwick. [Pipe Roll, 30 Hen. I.] Hugh de Grentemesnil II. was the father of Petronilla de Grentemesnil, wife of Robert III. de Beaumont, Earl of Leicester. Ivo married Emma de Bilborough, daughter of [H]erbert de Bilborough, knight of William Peverel I. 'Erbert, a knight of William Peverel's, held this Manor [of Gonalston] in the time of King Henry I. and left it to Emma his eldest daughter, and one of his co-heirs, who, marrying to Ivo de Heriz, brought this manor into his family.'
