This Thomas was son and heir of William de Charces (living 1232), by Alice, 1st daughter of Robert Alfreton, of Norton, co. Derby, and coheir of her brother Thomas Alfreton of the same, was a minor and ward of the king, 1241-42, but came of age 1246-7.
