John Dowsett of Kelvedon Hatch, Essex was born about 1435-1440 at either Kelvedon Hatch or Navestock which is two miles southeast. He died in Aug or Sep 1486 leaving a widow named Joan and six children all named in his will. Joan may have been his second wife and the mother of his two youngest children. John Bishop and John Radley, named in his will were most likely his grandchildren. His will is dated 6 Aug 1486 and was proved 18 Sep 1486. John requested that he be buried in the churchyard of Saint Nicholas in Kelvedon.
