Noted events in her life were:
• Background Information. 913 Sir Henry Lea was a prominent man in the county and was at one time sheriff [20]. He died in 1288, leaving as heir his son William de Lea, who acquired the manor of Mollington Banastre near Chester by his marriage with Clemency Banastre [Dods. MSS. cxlii, fol. 32b. Clemency was daughter of Robert Banastre]. Their son Henry, taking part with Adam Banastre in his rebellion in October/November 1315, was executed; but his sister Sibyl was able to secure the inheritance, which she carried by marriage to Sir Richard de Hoghton of Hoghton [Dods. MSS. cxlii, fol. 32b]. From that time Lea has descended in the same way as Hoghton.

Sibyl married Sir Richard de Houghton Knight, son of Adam de Houghton and Avicia Hoghwick.668 (Sir Richard de Houghton Knight was born before 1280 in Hoghton, Lancashire, England and died in 1341 in England 157,688.)
