The Chronique de Normandie, based on le Roman de Rou, names "Geffroy sire de Maienne" among those who took part in the conquest of England in 1066 [Extrait de la Chronique de Normandie, RHGF XIII, p. 236]. Geoffroi de Mayenne comte de Maine married, as his first wife and as her second husband, Mathilde d'Allyues, daughter of Gauthier d'Allyues. Mathilde was the mother of Hamelin, Guthier and Hersende.

Geoffroi married Mathilde d’Alluye, daughter of Gauthier d’Alluye and Unknown.¹⁰⁰² (Mathilde d’Alluye died after 1079.)
