Juan Miguel Durán y Chaves was born about 1756. He married Marí Guadalupe Gutiérrez, daughter of Pacual (?) Gutiérrez and María Dolores Márquez. the marriage investigation for this couple was dated 23 Oct 1781 at Sandía. Juan Miguel was identified as being twenty-five years of age and from los Corrales, and María Guadalupe as Spanish, sixteen year of age. The witnesses to the marriage investigation were Joaquín Rober, age fifty-four,of los Corrales; Antonio Gurulé, age forty-seven of the Sandía parish; José Durán y Chaves, age forty-four; and Miguel Archibeque, age forty, of Bernalillo.
