Fernán Gutiérrez succeeded his grandfather as the señor de la Casa Miranda. He gave donations to the church from1176. He served don Fernande II de León as a scribe whom he served up to 1223. Fernán Gutiérrez married María Ovequiz and it is recorded that they had a son and a successor named Gutierre Fernández who lived at thetime of rey Alonso IX de León.
