1 Jun 1687, Corpus Christi de Ysleta, Francisco de Torres (19), son of Francisco de Torres and Gabriela García, all natives of New Mexico living in la Ysleta, and Angela Trujillo, daughter of Cristobal Trujillo and María Sandoval. Impediment brought up, after marriage having taken place, by Felipa Gamboa, daughter of Alferez Juan de Gamboa, deceased, and Lucía Martín living in El Paso del Norte, at St. Magdalena d los Sumas, 1 Jun 1687.

Testimony: Felipa Gamboa claims that she had Torres' promise of marriage 7 or 8 months earlier. Lucía Martín (40), widow, says that Torres had sent her daughter a betrothal gift via Felipa García, widow of Diego Gonzales Bernal, as witnessed by Josefa Martín; said Felipa Jimenez García, native of New Mexico, is widow of said Diego Gonzales. Josefa Martín (18), daughter of Esteban (Martín) Barba and María Luján living in El Paso, says that Torres admitted having deflowered Felipe Gamboa and had asked for her hand in marriage.

José Trujillo, brother of Ángela Trujillo, says that he saw his sister and Torres in bed one night, and had wanted to beat him up, but Torres had told him that they were betrothed.

Testimony of Ángela Trujillo: Ángela says that Torres had given his word to her 10 months ago, and only 8 months ago to Felipa de Gamboa; Torres had not married her at that time, for fear of her brother who wanted to beat him up; besides, Torres' relatives, Diego de Luna and his wife, had not approved of his marrying her, taking away a chair and her clothing while her Torres husband was confined in the friary by order of the prelated (the Franciscan Custodio).

Francisco de Torres hired José de Contreras of Ysleta as his attorney, while his wife Ángela Trujillo petitioned to have Felipa's claim declared null and void.

Result: Torrres was fined 200 pesos, to be given to Felipa Gamboa as settlement, while he was to serve at the Presidio to make up the amount.
