• Background Information: 252 Alonso Romero, not a member of the other Romero families in pre-Pueblo Revolt New Mexico. Instead he was a "criado" at the hacienda of Felipe Romero at Sevilleta, his real name was Alonso Cadimo, and he was nicknamed "Jola."
His wife was María de Tapia. All this information is from the year 1665. Alonso himself does not appear in 1680 and 1681, having died before that time, evidently, but his family did return with the Reconquest as Romeros. One son, Diego, married a María de San José, and a daughter, María, became the wife of Juan de Villalpando.
