Diego Antonio María Chaves was baptized 23 Nov 1784 at Isleta with padrinos Pablo Mariano Padilla and María Antonia Tafoya. He married María Francisca Valdes, daughter of José Valdes and María Gertrudis Chaves, 22 Oct 1832 at Isleta. Diego was the widower of María de la Luz Carrillo and Francisca was the widow of Florencio Padilla. The couple was given a dispensation to marry because they were second cousins. María Francisca Valdes was baptized 25 Jan 1804 at Sandía with padrinos Padro Valdes and Gertrudis Salazar. She married Florencio Felis Padilla, son of Bernardo Padilla and Quiteria Durán y Chaves, 18 Jan 1818 at Sandía.

José Victorino Chaves married Juana María Padilla, daughter of Pablo Mariano Padilla and María Antonia Tafoya, 15 May 1822 at Isleta. Their padrinos were Manuel Chaves and Juana Chaves. They received a dispensation to marry because they were second cousins. Juana María Padilla was baptized 23 Oct 1785 at Isleta with padrinos Manuel Lucero and his wife María Bárbara Montoya. She married José Manuel Armijo, son of Pablo Armijo and Josefa Chaves, 21 Sep 1809, at Isleta. José Manuel was twenty-seven years old and Juana María was age twenty-three. They were third cousins.
