Also known as Malcolm II, he King of the Scots from 25 Mar 1005-1034. He fought a battle in 1008 at Carham with Uchtred, son of Waltheof, Earl of Northumberland, and overcame the Danes in 1017. He published a code of laws, and was murdered 25 Nov 1034. He had three daughters, Bethoc, Donada, wife of Sigurd II, Earl of Okney and Anleta.

Malcolm, son of Kenneth II and his wife, the Princess of Leinster, succeeded his father as the King of Scotland on 25 Mar 1005. Malcom married said to have been an Irishwoman from Ossory. They had a daughter named Bethoc, known as the Lady of Atholl, who married Crinan the Thane. He died when he was mortally wounded by his kinsmen on 25 Nov 1034, at Glamis Castle, Angus. He was buried on the Isle of Iona and was succeeded by his grandson, Duncan I.
