Diego Borruel de Luna married Ynés Montaño, daughter of Francisco Montaño and doña Leonor Pérez. Francisco had arrived in the America early, first in Cuba in 1519 [91] and later as part of the Pánfilo de Narvárez expedition that was to stop Hernán Cortés from advancing into Mexico. Francisco later joined with Cortés and under the command of Pedro de Alvarado, took part in the seige and conquest of the Aztec capital of Tenochitilan in 1521 [92].
