Salvador Romero, away at Casas Grandes in 1680, passed muster the next year as a native of New Mexico, twenty-one years old and single. He had a good slender build, a long beardless face, and long black hair. Sometime later he married María López de Ocanto, and both returned with the Reconquest.

Salvador Romero, a native of New Mexico, returned in 1693 with his wife, María López de Ocanto. A daughter, Pascuala, was born in Bernalillo on April 7, and baptised in extremis on 11 Apr 1702. A grown daughter, Agustina, married Mateo Márquez in this same year; and in 1714, a son Diego, married Josefa de Medina of Santa Cruz.

Salvador Romero, 22, resident of this province of New Mexico, and resident of the jurisdiction of San Pedro de Alcantara, son of Capitán Diego Romero and Sevastina Martín, both deceased, with María Lopes de Ocanto, daughter of unknown, and native of this province.

Witnesses: Luis Maese, 39 more or less; Agustín Luján, 29, a single resident of the province of New Mexico, and presently living here; Alonso Maese, 49, resident of the province of New Mexico; Domingo Martín Barba, 44, a resident of the province of New Mexico, and presently living at the Real de San Pedro de Alcantara.

With no impediment, the could were married and veiled on 17 Jan 1683 by Fry Diego de Mendoca with witnesses Cristóval Tapia and wife Juana de Balensia.
