He was still residing at Santa Cruz in 1727, but is mentioned as a soldier of Santa Fe the following year. He is very likely the Juan de Apodaca mentioned with his daughter María as being related to Ana Bernal of Santa Cruz. A known son of his was Felipe de Apodaca.
