• Background Information. 247 Francisco Trujillo Villavicencio and Mariana de Salas Orozoco, residents of Chalco, are the earliest known ancestors for he Moreno de Trujillo family in New Mexico. Francisco and Mariana moved to the town of Tacubaya in the early 1600s. At that time, the settlement of Chalco was abou twenty five miles southeast of Mexico City. Francisco and doña Mariana had at least two sons who were born at Chalco, Alonso Moreno de Lara (aka Moreno de Trujillo) and Nicolás Trujillo.
