Transactions of the Leicestershire Archaeological Society, Volume XII, "Claybrooke," p. 202, Ernald de Bosco is said to have been stewart to to Earl of Leicester (dead in 1168). This Earnald died during the reign of Henry II, and was succeeded by his son, also named Ernald de Bosco. 1246

• Background Information. 1058 "Arnold de Bois II (IV), who maried Emma younger daughter of Payn de Houghton, [Assize R. 619, m. 13 d.] belonged to a family connected with Bois-Arnault in France and Thorpe Arnold in Leicestershire. At the request of Emma he gave, with his body, half Little Houghton Church to his father's foundation of Biddlesden Abbey, Bucks., with land in Great Houghton, and, before 1166, their part in Little Houghton mill.
