Donald Bane
had only one child, Bethoc who married Huctred of Tynedale, son of Waldef, about 1145. Their daughter, Hextilda, married Richard Comyn as her first husband. Their great-great grandson was John Comyn of Tynedale and Badenoch who was a Competitor for the Crown of Scotland, 3 Aug 1291. He married Alianora, sister of John Balliol, King of Scotland.

Henry III, in 1262, confirmed to John Comyn of Badenoch certains land in Tynedale that had been granted to his great grandfather, Richard Comyn and Hextilda his wife, daughter of Huctred son of Waldeve, by King David and Henry his son. [Hodgson's Northumberland, v. ii, part 3, pl 396, Hexham Priory II, The Black Book (Surtees Society), pp. 84-85] The existence of Huctred, son of Waldeve is proved by the Pipe Roll of 1130, which shows that he was at that time a man of position in Northumberland.

Uchtred married Bethoc, daughter of Domnall Bán mac Donnchada and Unknown 871.,882 (Bethoc was born in 1092 in Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland.)
