Marie of Hungary, born abt 1257/8 and died in Sicily, Mar 1323, was the daughter of Stephen V, King of ungary and his wife Elizabeth of the Cumans. Marie married, 1270, as his second wife, Charles II, King of Naples, who died about 6 May 1309.

Charles of Naples was the son of Charles I of Anjou, who had conquered the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily in the 1260s. His mother was Beatrice of Provence.

During the Sicilian Vespers, he had been captured by Roger of Lauria in the naval battle at Naples in 1284. When his father died in 1285, he was still a prisoner of Peter III of Aragon.

In 1270, he married Maria of Hungary (c. 1257 \endash 25 March 1323), the daughter of Stephen V of Hungary and Elizabeth the Cuman.


Carlo married Marie of Hungary, daughter of Stephen V King of Hungary and Elizabeth Prinzessin der Kumans, in 1270.160 (Marie of Hungary was born about 1260 in Budapest, Hungary and died on 25 Mar 1323 in Napoli, Italia.)
