Humphrey de Bohun IX, K.G., born 25 Mar 1342, died 15 Jan 1372/3, son of Sir William de Bohun and Elizabeth Badlesmere, married after 9 Sep 1359, Joan Fitz Alan (died 7 Apr 1419), daughter of Richard Fitz Alan, Earl of Arundel, and Eleanor Plantagenęt, daughter of Henry Plantagenęt, Earl of Lancaster (son of Edmund, Earl of Lancaster, son of Henry III) and Henry's wife Maud de Chaworth. Sir Humphrey de Bohun and Joan Fitz Alan were the parents of Alianore de Bohun who married Thomas Plantagenęt, K.G., son of King Edward III. Alianore de Bohun and her husband Thomas of Woodstock were the parents of Ann, Countess of Buckingham who married, as her 2nd husband, Sir William Bourchier. Anne and Sir William Bourchier were the parent of Sir John Bourchier, K.G., Lord Berners, husband of Margery Buerners, daughter of Sir Richard Berner and Philippa, daughter of Sir Edward Dayngruge.

The History of the foundation of Walden abbey records the marriage of "Humfredus filius domini Willielmi de Bohun, comitis de Northampton" and "dominam Joannam filiam comitis Arundellć" [Dugdale Monasticon IV, Walden Abbey, Essex, I, Fundationis Historia, p. 139]. A manuscript which narrates the descents of the founders of Lanthony Abbey records that "Humfredus undecimus" married "Johannam filiam Richardi comitis Arundelić et de Surreia"[Dugdale Monasticon VI, Lanthony Abbey, Gloucestershire, II, Fundatorum progenies, p. 135]. The will of "John de Arundel Knt", dated 26 Nov 1379, bequeathed property to "Eleanor my wife...Joane my daughter...each of my sons and daughters...my brother the Earl of Arundel...the Countess of Hereford my sister" [Nicolas (1826), Vol. I, p. 105].
