In Henry II's charter to Ankerwick, Gilbert de Montfíchet's wife is called Aveline, and the name of Aveline continued in the family for some generations. After the death of Gilbert, his wife is recorded as Ancelina de Lucy [Abbrev. placit of John, p.52], who in the year 1206, went to law with the Abbot of Stratford, repecting the right to the advowson of the Church of Leyton, which she claimed as her dower given her by her lat husband Gilbert de Montfichet. In other records she is called Avelina de Montifíchet. Their son, Richard de Montfíchet succeeded Gilbert.

Aveline married Gilbert de Montfíchet, son of William de Montfíchet Baron of Stanstead and Margaret de Clare. 1207,1213 (Gilbert de Montfíchet was born in 1120 in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Bishop's Stortford, Essex, England and died about 1190.)
