Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands Ermentrudis was the daughter of Eudes comté d'Orléans and his wife Engeltrudis. She married Charles II "le Chauve" King of the West Franks and son of Emperor Louis I and his wife Judith. "The Annales Bertiniani record the marriage in 842 of "Ermendrud neptem Adalardi comitis" and "Karolus" at "Carisiacum palatium" [Annales Bertiniani II 842].
