Robert son of Ralf son of William succeeded his father, but did not long survive him, for he died in the following year. By the inquisition taken after his death, the jury returned the barony of Greystoke having been much wasted by the Scots, had fallen in value from 200 marks to £62. To Elizabeth his wife was assigned a widow's dowry and Ralf their son was declared to be the real heir and nineteen years of age. [Inq.p.m. 20 Edw. II, no. 66; Close Roll 17 Edw. II. m.35] Robert de Greystoke was buried at Butterwick, but Elizabeth survived him until 1346.

Robert Fitz Ralph
, 2nd but 1st surviving son and heir, by 1st wife, aged 40, or 40 and more, at his father's death. On 6 Jul 1297, having entered, without licence certain lands in Angerton, Doddington, Heddon, &c., whereof Katherine, late the wife of William fitz Ralph [Robert's elder brother who dsp & vp bef. 6 Jul 1297], had enfeofted him, he had livery, of the same, for a fine, it being provided that he did homage for them before the King crossed to parts beyond seas. As an adherent of the Earl of Lancaster, he was pardoned for any part he had taken against Piers de Gavastone, 16 Oct 1313.

Robert Fitz Ralph married Elizabeth*. He died shortly before 15 Apr 1317, and was buried in Butterwick Church, having survived his father only two months, and never having had livery of his father's lands. On 25 Apr 1317 his widow had livery of the manors of Butterwick and Hildreskelf, to hold in tenancy till her dower was assigned, viz, till 25 July following: on 5 Sep 1317 she obtained possession of divers tenements in Morton-on-Swale and Thirntoft, of which she and her husband had been jointly enfeoffed by his father, Ralph fitz William, to them and the heirs of their bodies: on 15 November following she had livery of the manor of Wyboston, the advowsons of Morpeth and Folkton, and divers cornages and knights' fees, and, 10 Dec 1318, of one third of the fourth part of the manors of Angerton, Heddon, &c., all of which the King had assigned to her in dower. She died 17 Nov 1346. Proof of nuncupative will, by which she directed her burial to be in Butterwick Church, 25 November 1346.

(Elizabeth de Neville was born about 1286 in Stainton, Lincolnshire, England, died on 17 Nov 1346 in Yorkshire, England 141 and was buried on 25 Nov 1346 in Butterwick Church, Yorkshire, England 141.)
