Roskell's History of Parliament 1386-1421 2:482-85 has a detailed biography of Nicholas Carew (c. 1356-1432). He married (1), probably by 1374, Isabel de La Mare, daughter of Alice de La Mare of Delamers (in Studham), Hertfordshire (father's name not given), (2), probably by 1398, Mercy, daughter of Stephen Hayme. According to Roskell 3:651, Isabel's mother, Alice de La Mare (d. 1411), married (2), by 1387, John Ludwick, of Digswell and Ludwick in Hatfield, Herts.
Isabella married Nicholas Carew Sheriff of Surrey, son of Sir Nicholas de Carew Knight, Keeper of the Privy Seal and Lucía Willoughby.193 (Nicholas Carew Sheriff of Surrey was born in Beddington, Surrey, England, died in 1432 in Beddington, Surrey, England 1259 and was buried in Church of St. Mary, Beddington, Surrey, England.)
