William Troutbeck, who purchased Dunham from the heir of Fitz Alan, was Chamberlain of Chester 14 Henry IV. At Agincourt 3 Henry V. He was retained for a year in the muster roll of men for France in 1417. He afterwards presented a petition to Henry V. for a confirmation of an annulty of £20 granted to him by the late Duke of Clarence. On 10 Jun 2 Henry VI, he was appointed as W.T. Esq. Chancellor of the Ducy of Lancashire. In 12 Henry VI. he was trustee of Sir George Warburton. In 12 Henry VI. he reconveyed lands to William le Massey of Rixton, Esq. On 14 Jun 16 Henry VI, as Chamberlain of Chester, he paid 20x. to the Abbot of Whalley. In 21 Henry VI., a release was made to him, and he died before 24 Henry VI. William Troutbeck married Johanna, daughter of William Massey of Rixton in Lancashire.
