Margaret of Cornwall, daughter of Walter of Cornwall, granddaughter of Richard Earl of Cornwall, and great granddaughter of King John of England and Isabel of Angoulême, married as her first husband, sometime after 14 Dec 1307, the date of marriage settlement, James (Hugh) Peverell,* son and heir of Sir Hugh Peverell, Knt. Margaret and her husband had one son, Sir Hugh Peverell, Knt., and one daughter, Joan, wife of Richard de Heligen. James (Hugh) died shortly before 30 Apr 1314, and was buried at the Church of the Grey Friars, Bodmin, Cornwall. Margaret married for a second time to Richard Sergeaux and they had one son named John. Margaret died 1 Aug 1349, and was buried in the Church of Grey Friars, Bodmin, Cornwall.

*Maclean's History of Trigg Minor, p. 382, names James Peverell while Pole in his Collections Towards a Description of the County of Devon, p. 227, names the husband of Margaret of Cornwall, as Hugh Peverell. Both sources name this Peverell as the son and heir of Sir Hugh Peverell.
