Simon de Patshull held the barony of Bletshoe, in the county of Beford, Edward I, and married, as Dugdale states [Baron, vol i.,p.143], Isabel, daughter and heir of John de Steygrave, who had summons to parliment 16 Edwaard I.

Simon was suceeded by John Patshull, who the 16 Edward III had summons to a great council at Westminster; the meeting of which was afterwards prorogued, and he was never again summoned, and died circ. 23 Edward III

"William de Patshull, his son (John de Patshull), was never summons and died cir. 34 Edward III, leaving Sibyll, wife of Roger de Bauchamp; Alice, the wife of Thomas Wake, of Blisworth; Catherine, the wife of Robert Tudenham, knight, his sisters and next heirs."

• Background Information. 141
Sir John de Pateshulle, of Pattishall, Northants, and Crawley, Beds., Knight, son and heir, was said variously to be aged 2, 3, and 4 in 1295. His marriage was granted to his stepfather in 1306. In Feb 1315/6, he was bound for service in Wales with the Earl of Hereford, and he was summoned that month, and in later years, for service against the Scots. His arms are recorded on the Boroughbrige Roll as a participant in that battle, 16 Mar 1321/2. He was summoned by general proclamation as a Knight of Beds to attend the Great Council at Westminster, May 1324, and to other Councils in 1335, 1338 and 1342, but never to Parliament. He had numerous commissions in Beds, Bucks and Northants. In Jun 1327, he had licence to crenellate his house at Northants.

Sir John de Pateshulle married, in or before 1312, Mabel, eldest sister of Otes de Grandison, and in her issue, coheir og her nephew Sir Thomas de Grandison, K.G. [Lord Grandison]. Sir John Pateshulle died in Jul or Aug 1349. In the following year his widow had licence to live in Elstow Abbey with her daughter and maids.

John married Mabel de Grandison, daughter of Sir William de Grandison 1st Baron of Grandison and Sibyl de Tregoz.141 (Mabel de Grandison died after 1350.)
