• Background Information. 734 There does not appear to have been any children from the marriage between Isabella and her second husband, Hugh. Mary, who was Hugh's daughter, must have been a child of a previous marriage. It is quite clear that Mary was Hugh's child, but her mother is not known. Hugh de Clitheroe died in 1370, his wife Isabella was alive in 1384.
Hugh de Clytherou had at least two other children besides Mary named Richard and William. He was the son of Adam de Cliderhou and Cecilia, daughter and heir of ______Saleburi, grandson of Hugh de Chiderhou, who was the son of another Hugh de Chiderou, and grandson of Ralph de Chiderou.
Hugh was alive in 44 Edward III (17 June 1370) as show in a document that reads "Thomas de Elcesle senior and William de Horwode release to Sir Hugh Cliderowe, knight and Isabella his wife and their heirs all right and claim in the manor of Wympol etc in the vill of Wympol and Armington in the county of Cambridge. At Wympol Monday after S. Barnabas the Apostle 44 Edward III." [*G: MSS]

"Paulina, formerly wife of Sir John de Gras grants to Hugh de Clederowe and Isabella his wife all the lands tenements rents etc which she had of the gift of Ralph de Wyndesore clerk rector of the church of Hanslope lying in the vill and fields of Ikelington, if they die without heirs remained to Ralph de Wyndesore. At Ikelington, Friday after the Feast of St Martin the Bishop 29 Edward III." (13 Nov 1355)

Hugh next married Isabella de Bourne, daughter of Sir Thomas de Bourne Knight and Isabella le Gras.734 (Isabella de Bourne died after 1384 in England 734.)
