Many sources refer to Ellen's father as Thomas de Worksley. In Kimber & Johnsons,The Baronetage of England: Containing A Genealogical and Historical Account of all the English Baronetts Now Existing, 1777, Vol. I, pp. 19-20, they call the father of Ellen or Helen, either Thomas or Robert Workesley. In William Dugsdale's, Visitation of Lancshire, 1664-5, the father of Hellen, wife of Thomas Booth, is given as Robert de Worsley who married Ciceley, daughter of ______ de Bramhall within the predigree of the Worsley of Worsley Booths.
