~The Ancestor, Vol. VII, p. 3, Sir William Bernak, husband of Alice, daughter of Robert de Driby and Joan de Tattershall, had a brother named Gilbert. Their father was Sir Hugh Bernak and mother was Maud, daughter and coheir of Sir William de Woodthorpe. Sir Hugh de Bernak was in possession of lands at Woodthorpe in the right of his wife [Feet of Fines, Lincoln, file 45, 47 Henry III, 1262].


Hugh married Maud de Woodthorpe, daughter of Sir William de Woodthorpe Knight and Unknown. (Maud de Woodthorpe was born about 1242 in Lincolnshire, England.)
