Richard Gaymer is named as the father of Lydia Gaymer on the Terling baptismal records. further records show that he was buried in Terling, Essex, England, 10 Oct 1613. He married at Terling, 23 Jul 1590, to Margaret Mason, who was buried, also in Terling, 23 Jul 1602. His second wife was Joan Robinson, whom he married, 19 Feb 1602/03, Fairstead, Essex England. After he died Joan remarried Herome Nieale, at Terling, 31 Jul 1614.

From the records in Essex, England, author, Vernon Dow Turner, has discovered that Richard Gaymer was a fairly prosperous miller and land owner in Terling. Terling's chief economic activity was raising grain to be exported to London and other nearby residential areas. From the records of Dow session court, we can gather that he was literate and served on jury panels for surrounding towns many times from 1569-1601. Richard signed his will, 8 Oct 1613, as the author says, "with a shaky signature. This was two days before he was buried on 10 Oct 1613. The witnesses to this will were William Harris alias Wright, Edmund Shaa[?], and William ball. The will was proved 15 Oct 1613.
