Sir Giles de Erdington
, of Erdington, Shawbury, Corfe Mullen, and Barrow-on-Soar, was the son and heir of Sir Henry de Erdington, Lord Erdington by Joan de Wolvey. On 20 Jun 1343, he received a pardon for having acquired without license the manor of Shawbury from his father, and on 11 Jul 1345 a pardon for not having taken up knighthood by the Feast of St. Lawrence last past, pursuant to the proclamation. He was on the King's service in Flanders in the retinue of Sir John de Montgomery in 1346, but returned to England before 20 Jan 1346/7, owing to severe illness. On 1 Dec 1352 he obtained an exemption for life from being put on assizes, juries, &c., and from being appointed mayor, sheriff, escheator, &c., against his will.

Sir Giles de Erdington married Elizabeth, younger daughter and coheir of William de Tolthorpe, of Tolthorpe, Rutland, by Alice, daughter of Sir Ralph de Normanville, of Empingham in that county. Sir Giles was living 10 Jun 1359. His widow, Elizabeth, died 26 May 1375.

Sir Giles de Erdington, son of Henry Erdington, was pardoned for not appearing to receive th honor of knighthood before the feast of St. Lawrence of the same year, as proclaimed by the King. He was in attendance with King Edward III during the war in France, being of the retinue of John de Montgomeri.

Sir Giles married Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Tolthorp, of Rutland, and died about 1386, having previously held serval high posts in the county.
