Peter Bulkeley, a scion of the Bulkeleys of Bulkeley, Chesire , held Haughton in the right of his wife Nichola, daughter of Thomas le Bird. Letters Patent granting annuity of 100 shillings to Peter de Bulkeley of Haughton by King Richard II, 28 Sep 1390.

~Ormerod, George, The History of the County Palatine and City of Chester, Vol. II, p. 290, The Bulkeley's of Haughton descended from William de Halghton, a younger brother of the manerial lords of this township, who by Inq. p.m. 39 Edward III died seized of lands in Halghton & Tarporley, leaving Nichola, daughter of Thomas le Brid, and wife of Peter de Bulkylegh, next of kin and heir. This Peter de Bulkeley was the third son of Robert Bulkeley of Davenham, a second son of William de Bulkeley lord of the manor of Bulkeley in 1322.

Vol. II, p. 652, youngest son of Robert de Bulkylegh, ancestor of the Bulkeleys of Woore.

Vol. II, p. 675, Peter, second son of Robert de Bulkeley, married Nicholala Bird, daughter and heir of Thomas Bird and her grandfather William de Halghton. Peter was alive 39 Edw. 3.

Peter married Nicola Bird Heiress of Haughton, daughter of Thomas le Bird and Daughter of William de Houghton, about 1360 in Cheshire, England. ^532,713 (Nicola Bird Heiress of Haughton was born about 1362 in Haughton, Bunbury, Cheshire, England.)
