He stated that of the three classes of people in the area, he belong to the first or upper class, and more than two thirds of them were his relatives in the fourth degree. He added that he was a life-long resident of the area. María Josefa state that most of the people of her station were relatives, that she had her parent's permission to wed, and that she had lived in the area since her birth.

Father Rubí de Celis forwarded the proceedings to Durango on 16 Mar 1819. On 15 Apr 1819, the bishop granted a dispensation, assigning as penances that the couple would go to communion onces and pay 25 pescos as alms for the bishop to distribute. He ordered the parish priest at Bel 130n to publish banns three times. Assuming no new impediment arose, he was to marry the couple and grant them nuptial blessing.

• 3. Joaquín Álvarez del Castillo granted his permission for his son, Manuel del Corazón de Jesús, to marry.

• 5. Father Rubí de Celis states on 14 Aug 1819, that in compliance with the decree of the Council of Trent, he had publicly proclaimed banns on 1, 8 and 10 Aug and that no impediment had arisen. On 12 Aug 1819, in the door of the church, he married Manuel del Corazón de Jesús Castillo and María José Bartolomé Baca in the presence of Gregorio de Arteaga, André Callos, and Diego Armijo, among ohers. At nine o'clock in the morning, he gave them the nuptial blessing.
