Turton's Plantagenet Ancestry
Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 824 William de Walton owned Hale and Halewood, and had two sons. The eldest was Richard who took the name de Mida, and had a grant of Hale from II. He died without issue, leaving his younger brother, Henry de Walton his heir, who had a grant of Walton and Hale, 11 Henry III. Henry had a son named William who died without issue, and a daughter, who married Alan de Columber, and she recieved Hale from her father. Their daughter, Cecily, married Sir Robert Holland *, and their daughter Avena married Adam Ireland, lord of Hutte, and Hale was carried into that family. ~The Coucher Book, Or Chartulary, of Whalley Abbey, pg. 491
