When Nicolas de Aguilar came to New México, he married Catalina Márquez, daugther of Francisco Márquez and María Núñez of Santa Fé. They had four children named Gerónima, María, Isabel and Nicolás. Those who stayed in New México took their mother's name, Márquez.

Another daughter seems to have been Ana María Pacheco, also known as Ana María Montoya, who married Nicolás Márquez, and later became the wife of Diego Arias de Quirós in 1694.
