José Antonio Martín
- Born: 1738, Alburquerque, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España
- Marriage: María Josepha Montoya about 1762 in San Felipe de Neri, Alburquerque, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España 270
Another name for José was José Antonio Martínez.
In the Albuquerque Baptisms, I have seen José Antonio Martín and his wife Josepha Montoya and their children referred to a Coyotes, Mestizos and Spanish. Most often their family is referred to as Martín, but occasionally their grandchildren ar Martines or Martínez. I suspect, due to the lack of records and the various ethnic categories they have been called, that José and Josepha were Native Americans living within the Spanish culture of Albuquerque. They may have been adopted or children of servants of a Martin and Montoya family. 40
